April 2nd, 2008 I am a 69 year old professional woman who, until three months ago, was in a rapidly escalating downhill spiral heading towards a major health crisis. Extreme stress, diabetes, obesity, peripheral neuropathy and sleep deprivation had brought me to the point of needing to take increasing doses of prescription drugs just to get through my work day. I decided that I was no longer wiling to be a 90 year old in a 69 year old body and committed myself to turning my life around, but I needed help to do so. Gabriela has been my primary support in this endeavour. We initially connected because she was my colon hydrotherapy clinician. She set me at ease right away, even before my first treatment. Gabriella became my "life coach". She has taught me about organic foods has taken me shopping and taught me what to buy. She has taught me how to juice and how to cook and helped me with meal planning. She has been there as moral support as I work my way through radical change. She is actually able to make this fun! I have been able to reduce my weight significantly, normalize my blood sugar and reduce my medications by half so far. None of this would have been possible without her help. In addition, Gabriela has developed an individualized plan to help me learn Yoga. She is incredibly patient and non-judgemental in working with me, and I always feel encouraged and empowered by her. Gabriela has developed into an "all purpose" healer for me. She has also become my massage therapist and I am receiving Lymph Star treatments from her. On a spiritual level, she is doing intuitive energy work with me that is very powerful and has helped me heal spiritually as well as physically. How can one person possibly be so gifted in so many areas? Once you experience Gabriela, you will know. She is a lifelong learner, constantly seeking to improve her skills and add new ones. I have never met anyone like her. She has incredible gifts of intuition and empathy. One of the things I appreciate most is that she" walks her talk". I know that everything she encourages me to do, she lives in her life as well. She is a woman of total integrity, honesty and courage. She is an inspiration to me at every level. You can be sure that she will be my guest of honor at my 90th birthday party, which now-thanks in large part to her help- I know I will live to celebrate! July, 2008 Shortly after graduating medical school, I sustained a fracture of my cervical spine and a subsequent spinal cord injury. Initially I was left largely paralyzed from the neck down. My wife a physical therapist, and myself a new physician, we had all of the knowledge needed to be very frightened by this potentially catastrophic injury. Suddenly our carefully planned lives had been thrown into disarray that we could never have foreseen. A close friend of ours then introduced us to Gabriela. When she first visited me, my wife and I were given hope and reassurance in the possibility of my recovery after Gabriela shared her own story of a remarkably similar injury at a young age and a subsequent recovery that any physician could only interpret as essentially complete. She brought a warm and comforting presence with her into the hospital room, and we immediately felt a genuine and endearing connection with her. She explained her work with energy healing and how it had been an integral part of her own recovery. She offered to initiate treatment with me and I accepted. Similar to many other health practitioner and patients unfamiliar with non traditional and on-western healing practices, I did harbor my fair share of skepticism bolstered by western medical training. Facing an injury of such magnitude on the eve of my own career as a healer however, I welcomed any and all help. I also had an awareness that while the western medical traditions I had been trained in could offer no support or evidence for the mechanism of efficacy of treatment modalities like energy healing, that these were treatments founded in an understanding of the body quite unlike that which I and the physicians and therapists treating me had studied. I became more and more convinced of the effectiveness of Gabriela's treatments as my recovery continually exceeded the expectations held by myself and my doctors at all stages. Six months from my injury, I was able to start my own work as a physician treating patients. I was left with no observable deficits. It was my own essentially full recovery from what could have been catastrophic injury. Not only did Gabriela assist in a thorough physical recovery, she helped my wife and I heal emotionally and spiritually from this trauma. My wife can attest that such an injury is not just sustained by the patient, but is also experienced vicariously by those close to him, and Gabriela addressed this where likely no one else would have. July, 2008 The day of Mike's medical school graduation he suffered a neck fracture and spinal cord injury. A gnarl wave of sadness and fear gripped my stomach. As a physical therapist I had intimate knowledge of what may lay ahead for Mike, and my favorite guy, being a physician knew as well. As I even walk among those memories in my mind, I can feel vibrations of the shock of the day. In the emergency room, I spoke to my husband, kissed his face, and we vowed to do everything possible during this recovery. To bullet point the highlights and challenges from that moment to when Gabriella entered our life, Mike had a cervical spine fracture, a blood clot in an artery at the base of his brain, surgery to fuse his neck, and inpatient rehab were he relearned the basics of walking, eating, and taking care of himself. We had an awesome team on our side. Great physicians, nurses, and an outpouring of family and buddies that still makes my heart sing with gratitude. Emily, our dear friend and the wife of Mike's best buddy, was at that time a barista in the local coffee shop; she was wearing her distress regarding Mike's accident on her face. Gabriella listened and offered her skills. Open to whatever could possibly make Mike better, I called Gabriella and set up our first interaction unsure of what energy healing would be. I briefed Mike on who was coming and added in that Gabriella had also had a major challenge with a neck injury too. Gabriella came to see us at Beaumont Hospital on the rehab floor about a week after Mike's surgery. As she entered the room, Mike's eyes floated to meet her (no neck turning because he was in a brace). My brave guy had the look of complete innocence and truth when he saw Gabriella, like he recognized her sweetness immediately. Gabriella introduced herself, her gifts, and shared her story and recovery. It was the first of many healing sessions. I was included! I felt right away the whispers of Mike's energy field. And as these sessions continued, Gabriella healed Mike on the inside, helping him prepare for return to life, starting his career in medicine, and bolstered him as he faced the uncertainty of the months to come. She was channeling energy through his spine, moving it through his limbs, and examining and balancing his chakras. Mike does spinal taps, sutures wounds, and just helped with a C-section surgery yesterday. He is one and a half years into his residency at Henry Ford Hospital helping others through their challenging moments in life. He was able to go from almost complete paralysis to working in 6 short months! We had an amazing team on this recovery, and Gabriella was a key player, facilitating Mike's gains, and what a beautiful one it is! I am certain that the marriage of Western medicine combined with Gabriela's healing put Mike on the fast track to get better...a true miracle. In addition, Gabriella has kindly guided me in how to help Mike, teaching me about energy healing, letting me borrow books, and has performed healing sessions on myself. If I had to describe a healing session, I would say it is a beautiful journey inside yourself, like hot chocolate for your soul. It can draw up emotions but you are cleansed by it. One more addendum! The skill of energy healing is just the tip of the iceberg for Gabriella. She is like a one-stop-shopping center for all things good for your mind and body. Mike, myself, and my family have gotten wonderful massages from her, Mike and I have done yoga in a semiprivate class, and she also is a colon hydrotherapist. It is always nice to be around folks who are in the process of being good to their body. We are happy and blessed to know Gabriella, a powerhouse of love and truth.
